The History of the Pottstown Classics
In 1980 the Pottstown Classics Car Club was formed by a small group of Chevy enthusiasts with rides ranging from 1955-1957, to preserve and promote these classic cars.
Through the years, the club has grown and changed. In 1984 the club was opened to all types of vehicles, including antiques, street rods, customs, trucks, vans and sport cars. Ownership is not mandatory, enthusiasm is.
Membership is currently about 60 members and growing.
In recent years, the club has sponsored Nostalgia Night events five times a year through the summer season, May through September on High Street, downtown Pottstown.
Door prizes and cash prizes are given away at each event. Area merchants and club members are very generous in providing these door prizes. Monies are raised at these nightly events by selling 50/50 raffle tickets from donations from sponsors.
